Training
We offer dog training programs and obedience classes, including a la carte sessions and training packages. Our licensed trainers provide a science based, force free environment to learn and grow with your dog. We are always learning new techniques, sports, and activites to incorporate to our training practices.
Dog training covers a variety of skills, including teaching basic and advanced cues (focus/attention work, sit, down, settle, stay, leave it, loose-leash walking, recall, games, and enrichment lessons), helping to socialize your dog with day training sessions, guiding owners in addressing behavioral issues, and helping to build a cooperative relationship between the owners and the dog.
To start training, you must submit a Training Evaluation Form for each dog. Then, our trainer will reach out to set up an evaluation appointment. We hold evaluations Monday through Thursday in the afternoon. After the appointment is scheduled, one of our staff members will contact you for a non-refundable deposit to reserve your slot. Your dog will need to stay at least four hours so they can adjust to the facility and undergo the one-on-one evaluation. After the evaluation, the trainer will create a customized training plan for you and your dog.
The vaccination/examination requirements for dog training include an up-to-date Rabies vaccine, Distemper vaccine, 6-month Bordetella vaccine, both Canine Influenza vaccines, and a negative Fecal Exam. Although not required, we also recommend a Heartworm Test. Without a Heartworm Test or Heartworm prevention, a Fecal Exam will only be valid for six months. All vaccinations/examinations must be given by a licensed veterinarian and must be up to date with our requirements no later than seven days before your dog's training evaluation. Owners are responsible for providing us with a copy of your most current vaccination records. We will not schedule your training evaluation until you have provided records showing your dog is up-to-date with our vaccination/examination requirements.
